The Pentagon building has gone into lockdown, over reports of several people shot and injured, including a police officer, at its transit center. The Pentagon Force Protection Agency (PFPA) has asked the public to avoid the area.
In a tweet on Tuesday morning, the PFPA said that the Pentagon building, the headquarters of the United States Department of Defense, was in a state of lockdown due to “an incident” at the facility’s metro station, without providing further details.
Unconfirmed local reports said several people, including a police officer, have been injured after gunshots were fired. Arlington Fire and EMS confirmed in a tweet that it "did encounter multiple patients" at the scene.
